Cala Saona
The picturesque Cala Saona bay on the west side of Formentera is a colourful semicircle of ca. 150 m in width and ideal for bathing. On both ends the bay is framed by brownish rocks and covered by finest white sand in a width of 120 m reaching to the rim of the evergreen pine forest. The emerald-green clear water glittering in the sun illuminates the entire bay: An idyll loved by photographers, sun worshippers and snorkelling aficionados. A small low-density tourist village is in the vicinity.

Due to its relatively remote location the Cala Saona is mostly and only moderately visited by holidaymakers staying near the bay and therefore offers undisturbed bathing pleasures. This beach is particularly suited for families with children as it gently slopes down to the water. It is regularly cleaned and you can also rent parasols, sunloungers and boats. Some restaurants and a nice beach bar on the left side of the bay will care for your well-being.
